Olivier Vanden Eynde

Olivier Vanden Eynde is the Founder and Managing Director of WorldLoop, as well as its mother organization, Close the Gap. Olivier began Close the Gap as an entrepreneurial endeavor while finishing his MBA at Solvay Business School of the Free University Brussels in Belgium. Since its creation in 2003, Close the Gap has grown in size to a team of 6 highly dedicated and committed FTE’s and has managed to distribute 250,000 refurbished computers to over 500 ICT development project in 30 developing countries.

In 2010, Olivier, ever the entrepreneur, sought opportunities to make ICT for development activities more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. Through this dedication and passion came the WorldPC pilot project, which has now matured to WorldLoop.

Since 2006, Olivier joined Deloitte, part-time, acting today as a Director within the Enterprise Risk Services division. He is involved in many sustainability engagements and support various business development initiatives. He is recognized as an expert in CSR strategy and ‘logic of intervention’ with respect to community investment CSR projects and is familiar with CSR reporting and CSR standards such as GRI.

Olivier is regularly requested as a special advisor on digital inclusion projects. Among others by Microsoft, H.E. Prince Philippe of Belgium and the federal and Flemish government in Belgium.
