WorldLoop presents on resource conservation at TBLI Conference


Each year, the TBLI Group brings together financial professionals from all over the world to educate and raise awareness on the benefits and opportunities of sustainable investing. The aim is to maximize investment flows into sustainable projects and new sustainable businesses.
The TBLI Conference focused on how environment, society and governance are becoming more important factors to consider when evaluating investment portfolios and are impacting important business decisions from the shareholder to management. Ms. Barbara Toorens, External Relations at WorldLoop, participated in a workshop to to highlight new sustainable business models around undervalued natural resources that are working on the ground. She presented the Best of 2 Worlds concept and how WorldLoop has translated this theory into practice with their e-waste recycling activities in Africa.With support of the private sector, civil society and local government, WorldLoop has moved beyond discussion to action deploying a best of two worlds approach for e-waste management. Through professional mindshare, trainings and financial support, member organizations in Africa have been able to increase the quantity and quality of resources extracted participating in a 100% sustainable e-waste management system and a closed loop solution for the hazardous fractions which are sent to Europe for treatment.
